It’s Saturday Nite, time to Twist And Shout with The Beatles!

    From my collection:

This is a 1964 Capitol Records Canada first pressing of the Twist And Shout LP, it is in mint playing condition. It’s very gear baby! and it’s got some “fab tunes”.

Anything Sam Cooke has ever sung, is incredible, I love his music.
I think it’s tough to pick an ultimate favourite for any nite of the week.
But a sentimental favourite of mine is this I’ve pictured from my collection. It’s a 1961 first pressing of Cupid that I recently scored, this song is so dreamy! CDD7B68D-3EE0-4225-A143-9CB56D3D4371.jpeg

@bluumz here is a Sam Cooke I love in my collection, it’s a 1962 first pressing of the Twistin’ The Night Away LP. I bit the bullet slightly on the cover, but the vinyl plays in totally mint condition. It is very tough to find an original pressing of this album in absolute mint. But I love my copy very very much. 24506492-E189-4730-8658-CA84C0554B6A.jpeg

@Vintage Maven, you have some fab stuff! Do you play any of your records? According to my 18yo son, turntables and vinyl records are back "in". :joyful:

Yes! Absolutely I play everything I have, as a record collecting friend of mine once said, “ Records are meant to be played”.

We were just discussing this today as we waited on line to get into a sale.
I mean that kids like turntables and old style records like VM has.

Ferris B is one of my favorite movies. It always makes me laugh.
And I love that song by the fab 4.

Don't forget Chubby Checker with the Twist. My nieces asked me a few years ago how does the Twist dance go. LOL Yes I showed them.

@pearlsnblume 59 years later and the twist lives on!

I actually own the original version of the song on 45 rpm, it was originally done/written in 1959 by Hank Ballard & The Midnighters (We all know what happened in 1960 with Chubby Checker’s version when it came out).

I saw Chubby Checker live in Las Vegas when I was a kid, maybe 6 or 7. My family lived in Calif and we drove to Las Vegas for the weekend and caught the show at a hotel. Also on the bill was Alan King.
