Featured The Marque is 1908 to 1937 - so it must be Arte Nouveau or Deco - mustn't?

    But I bet it isn't.

    A verdict please.

Arte Nouveau surely? - The pattern involves unnatural flowers. Notwithstanding, I think it is lovely.

It's a bit of both I would say. Art nouveau flowers and a more angular shape moving towards the deco period.

I can't find any other similar French pieces; but it does appear to have taken the fancy of Shelley.

How would you drink out of those without your tea dribbling down your vest?

Exactly. My first thoughts. Then I thought - pout ones lips. Just tried it. Nearly choked.

Very pretty, but I see a more classic design, neither Nouveau no Deco. JMHO :)

More Belle Epoque to me. Just because an object was made in a certain time, that doesn't mean it can't harp back to older styles.
