Idk...they used a legitimate sounding name. Not the wisest thing to do for privacy OR if you're gonna be rude where anyone can search your name. For their sake i hope it was an elaborate fake name.

 

Future employers etc. Yes, they too know how to use google.

 

Snarkiness seems to be the tone of the day lately. I usually only post to Friends on Facebook but occasionally someone on a public site sees one and sends rude remarks. I ignore it. I mean, if you're in a collector's group and say something it shouldn't be cause for snottiness.

And what is wrong with good manners in general?

 

Nothing wrong with good manners....... but today we live in a society where ' no consequences ' , combined with our anonymous digital online footprint , has given rise to the notion that one can get away with saying hurtful things where and when they please , that said 'face to face' , would otherwise incur .... well.... swift real world consequences !

I believe it is a top down situation.... where having seen and heard our leaders... men & women in power , in positions of trust , lie to us with hyperbole and malice , has fostered the old " If they can do it, so can I " mentality .

 

Or top and down and everything in between are peopled by the same people, some nice, some not so nice, and some downright nasty.
But I agree, bad examples are bad, no matter where or how.
