That's a George III reign mark, so the lion matches the reign mark.

The Reign mark looks very clear but the maker mark is rubbed a lot

When a city mark is missing, it should be assumed to be London (citation - a previous post by Afantiques.)

Differential wear on hallmarks can be due to where they are placed on the object , protruding bits can mean one end of the hallmark is easier to polish than the other.
Also the sponsor's mark may have been less deeply stamped.

I don't see any reason to think that this is not a valid mark from the correct time period. If it were not, that site would not have included it.

Yes, that site is top reliable. What I am worry about is my piece only bears RS that is different the website, which made me worry about my piece. :cat:

This isn't my field, but if I'm following the reference site entry correctly, the mark on your piece is the one Sharp used after parting ways or when working separately from Smith. Rather than having a completely new punch made, he just cut down the one for the 2 of them together.

Thank you very much for your information.
Another reason why I worry about this piece is that this piece bears two seprate different Family emblems. I will show the picture once I get it by the end of this week.

That could actually be a good thing; it tells you where it's been.

But yours is NOT different from the website (except for being stamped upside down.) You even posted a snippet from the page showing it on the site. I'm confused.

This is one family emblem in the front of the body.

It looks like the emblem of family Lovat.
