This sculpture is different, has anyone seen one like it before.

    Well, I personally love it, even if it is chalkware. I do wish we could have found the 3M connection though.

    It has a © so it was a mold. Companies do have ceramics classes.

    Perhaps, but then it would have had the mold company logo, not 3M.
    And I don't think this is ceramic, I think it is chalkware.

    Hi,
    When I looked at the © I saw MFO which I thought was the mold company. Chalkware is cast from molds also and then someone scratched Minn Minning into the bottom.

    This is a portrait of African American and later British actor, Ira Aldridge in his role as Othello.

    I think your Othello was inspired by Pietro Calvi (1833-1884) who used black American/British Shakespearean actor Ira Aldridge as the model for his 1871 bust of Othello, the Moor of Venice. His bust sold at Sotheby's in December 2015.
