    Just thinking, it looks like a long S on Esquire so could it be an 1850 date?

    I think the conclusion last time I posted it was indeed 19th C.
    That’s interesting that an S can be dated so accurately. What were they before and when did they change?

    mmm can't say I know exactly, just that an s was written as an f up to a certain point that I think was in the 19th C however since it's hand inscribed I'm not sure. Just thinking that if the 50 is a year it might be 1850 but it could be commemorating 50 years of something.
