Thread help, what animal hair Is this?

    IMG_4086.jpg IMG_4087.jpg Thanks to Bravo, a few reality TV shows have pushed Caftans and hostess gowns into popular culture again for a min. Anyway, this thread on a vintage Egyptian one confuses me a little. I couldn't get a great photo sorry because of the shadows. Has a Silk like sheen, each separate strand about 3 inches long. Pretty soft, but really shiny once Embroidered. Is it a goat possibly like an Alpaca?
