[QUOTE="journeymagazine, post: 11081932, member: 84"]I found this at my local thrift store today - it was $50 but the carved head/fave on the top was enough for me to buy it! Once I got it home & looked at it closely I found a lot of unique things on it I'd never seen before! Including - A label inside it that says Antonio Pazarini Genua(?) 1738 A carving of a man's face/head at the top of the peg box and the name Richard Waener or Wagner on the back of the peg box On the back top of the body it has a etching? of a man's profile and FRANZ LISZT And on the back bottom it has A Madame Alice Borbi (or Barbi) It also has wreaths(?) running down each side. Looking up Antonio Pazarini it says he was a violin maker during the period, but his violins are very rare. What do I have with all the commemorative? If label not real, how old is this violin? Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated!
