It is by central IL artist Elvin Mauk (1929-2006). I have dealt with a number of his works over the years including about 20 I bought from his estate. I have not kept any until now. It is fairly large oil on canvas and probably one of his earlier abstractions. I had to pay a whole $40.00 for this but did not blink an eye. Apparently others did, as I did not see it until the third day it was in the store. Store employee told me that many people looked at it but did not buy it. I sold several of his abstract works in the $400-$600 range in the past so a no-brainer for me.

This is a large landscape by Georgia artist Bill Turner. This also sat in the same thrift store for over a week. It had a pretty good dent in the canvas that I was able to shrink right back out. I had to touch up the frame from numerous scrapes and chips. I also think that some probably thought this a print or factory art. It is exactly what the artist does, with thin application of paint (maybe airbrush?). Bought for $4.00 with my Senior Day discount.

This is a nice framed art nouveau book cover.
