I found this today at a local thrift store. I'd actually left but when I returned the cart I'd used to carry everything to my car I decided to look around 1 more time because they are constantly bringing new items out as they process them.
And that's when I found this bowl? Jar? that is signed on the bottom along with what looks like a 1935 date?

Does anyone know who the artist is?
    Is it from 1935?

    I appreciate any help!

It looks like a metal band? There’s a screw, I think?

I'm not trying to disagree, but am not totally sure that looks like a "real" screw head what with its lack of 'definition' and uneven-ness??......JMHO.....I always have no problem being corrected!!!!

Hard to tell with the lighting but the flow almost looks like a jumbo silver Sharpie.

It looks like a copper band - but it's glued to vase; the "screw" looks like a dab of paint with a cross? in it.
THANK YOU janetpjohn! Going to look him up now (and it does look like a silver sharpie; which rules out a1935 date!)
