Featured Thrift store find: Inkwell stand?

    Found this think from a thrift store for few euros. Not 100% sure what this is or where its from or how old the item is, but there are some marks underneath, maybe some of you can help me figure it out. Any information would be awesome :)

    The little cupid with a letter suggests it was meant for a lady to write love letters.

    Very nice. Most probably nickel. Most reproductions are brass so it's 99.99% sure to be original. There would have been 2 glass containers; one for ink and one for sand or ponce. The front apron would have been to lay your pen(s). Dating about 1880 +-. It would have been nice to have had the other container but that would take the fun out of searching.
