Hello everyone, This is a stamped Tiffany & Co medal designed by Louis-Oscar Roty (French artist) in honor of Abram Stevens Hewitt (of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum family), a wealthy industrialist and politician, for his work as NYC Mayor to get the NYC transit system built. It was awarded to him in 1901. He died in 1903. I have found copies at a few museums. It measures 2 5/8". It is either copper or bronze. It could be extremely rare and very valuable, but I can't find any auction results and on Ebay, only one pamphlet that describes the ceremony where he was awarded the medal. Thoughts are welcome.

    Yours will be a restrike.

I tried to find out how many have been struck but could only find this information.
While only a single presentation gold piece was struck, a limited number of additional uniface bronze casts and medals were produced for historical collections and museum archives
