I'm sure someone will know what this is. I thought at first it was to heat up metal for jewelry making, but there are no burn marks on the bottom. Maybe to cook an egg? Perhaps for wax, but again no evidence of water marks that I could see. The plate has worn away in the bottom of the cup and the copper interior exposed. It is 6 inches across and the cauldron is 1 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest point and 1 3/4 inches tall. The patent number is 115831 17. It is not magnetic. Any comments appreciated.

Yay, I couldn't figure it out. I worked part time at a bar for about 6 years and had no idea what a tipping jigger was.

Had me flummoxed too. Couldn’t imagine the purpose.
