This is a tiny object no idea of its purpose or where it’s from, or even what it’s made from, some sort of stone. Would like to know more if anyone can help please. 23275137-6F8B-4B26-AD01-AF5863D0463E.jpeg 626C3449-1090-4CDE-B383-B6D5E3F15648.jpeg 7A49E18B-25CA-499C-881D-ED6926A94770.jpeg F271FEE8-68FD-40EA-AAA1-417CD826D82C.jpeg 3FF05C56-ECD5-4485-8FC3-856C8B289664.jpeg 572B942E-A273-4C4E-984E-DF7DE27C52E1.jpeg

I think kyra was informing you that it is in fact ceramic, and not stone.

    .... and she was right.;)

It is a charming figurine, probably of Bodhidharma, or Pu Tai Ta Mo in Chinese. Bodhidharma was a Buddhist monk who introduced Chan Buddhism in China. Chan became better known as Zen in Japan.

That's quite a hat he has! Did Bodhidharma wear a hat? I think some of the Ming tomb figures did (not suggesting that's what this is) but no idea.

This figure, although crude, is very like the Japanese immortal Fukurokuju ...however, could be one of the three Chinese Sanxing gods, Shouxing, god of immortality. Shouxing is recognized by his high, domed forehead and usually shown smiling and friendly.

    IMO
