...not that dogs are my favourite domestic animal. But the sale is very small just two tables and a load of baskets on the ground.

I was there for an hour, and could, should have gone round again; but my back and legs were aching. So my score was:-

1 Five 10" W.H. Grindley English Country Inns plates. Excellent condition.
2 Two sets demi-tasse and saucer Coalport '"Ming Rose". Excellent condition.
3 One Italian Baroque dish. Good condition.
4 One water-colour of Douarnenez port (France). I am convinced it is a signed original.
5 One Italian or Portuguesa ceramic handbell. Good condition.
6 One ravier Obernai/Sarreguimines. Good condition.
7 One plate (not Quimper) possibly St. Malo. Good condition.
8 One blue jug. Impressed on the back that I cannot make out.
9 One Portuguese jug, the name on the back that I cannot read.
    10 Three tapestries, unmounted.
11 One covered sugar bowl, Sarreguimines marked 1860 - 1919. Minton design and pattern. Excellent condition.
    12 Three eggcups.
13 One "mouse in a boot," for toothpicks, et al.

ALL FOR THE PRINCELY SUM OF €8. I DECLINED THE €2 THEY TRIED TO GIVE ME AS CHANGE FOR A €10 NOTE. A BIENTOT.

Love the Douarnenez picture. I also think it could be a hand coloured print, but very charming.
Still, they need rescuing too.;) Just pretend they are loud cats.:cat:
Or don't you like cats either?:nailbiting: Pretend they are huge hamsters?
Well done, on both the purchase and declining the change.

Photo #8 reminds me of the Villeroy & Boch blank that they call Manoir when undecorated white and French Garden when decorated, among many others.

An interesting observation. The two companies Sarraguimines and Villeroy & Boch coexisted in the same ever-changing territory of Alsace-Lorraine. So I expect plagiarism.
