OK this has been in a local thrift store for a few weeks - they've been asking $299 for it! They got a bunch of new paintings in today so I asked the manager if he was ready to finally discount it & he thought for a bit & then said. "$80 if you want it, Charlie."
I wanted it & bought it.
And once again I need help finding out who the artist is!(There is some writing - in Spanish I think - on the back
Any thoughts (NOT a factory art, right??!) would be appreciated.
PS - One of the new paintings is by the same artist in same style; it's of a barefoot (large feet!) peasant(?) sweeping the floor with a handful of twigs or young tree branches - she is sweeping up pieces of newspaper & some are floating in the air showing - I think - political reports?
    PS - this one is large: 33" x 39"
    Again, Thank You!

Reminds me of Antiques Roadshow when an appraiser was showing an animal painting. They told the owner the value would be higher if it were not a view of the business end ;)

A final question (or 2!) please - what style should I call this?
Whose work is it he reminds me of? Botero has the large people, but there is/was an artist who made his subject's feet larger than norm?

Dude. Why to do you need to find the video with a Google search?

    Search: pintor edgar alvarado

I think you might call it social realism. The title seems to be "Hasta cuando", which, in this context, might be "How long must this be suffered?"... being a comment on the subject, which I'd guess to be a peon driving oxen and working a hand plow.
