Trash or treasure, Victoria Ware.

    Found this at my lock-up, I can`t remember which home it came from.
    5 inch across small lidded tureen Victoria Ware Iron Stone.
    It looks a bit smudged and a very dark blue compared to some blue & white.
    It has not been washed and has the remnants of some whitish liquid around the edge of the bowl and the lid, could be soup, could be emulsion.

    Several marks are shown as fakes from China.

    fake or not...it has a really nice look to it.....no wonder you kept it !!!

    I'd say modern and Chinese. I don't believe the mark - doesn't look convincingly period.

    Yup, known modern "fake". But pretty enough.
