Featured Tree Ornament?

I tend to think the top is hand cut. Close up Photo included. I'm afraid to try to take it apart, so I can't see inside. The glass seems to be colored. No sound when I shake it.

 

That almost looks handmade. It’s possible someone used old laboratory or large factory glass container to make it. I would be curious is the neck under the cap was open or closed and if the edges are rounded or sharp like it was cut.
