Featured Tridacna Gigas Shell

    Found this shell at an estate sale and wanted to share it with you all. The story the previous owner told me that he found it after a hurricane in 1988 in the Caribbean.     It's gigas all right. Find the story of the finding hard to credit, given the excellent condition of the shell & the geographic distribution of the living creatures. This one looks as though it was harvested. They used to be popular as ash trays in commercial establishments. Not that I wouldn't like to have it myself. :)
