    hi folks

    something i found in a charity shop today for a couple of squid

    any ideas on origin, or age

    any thoughts appreciated

    Looks like some vintage Italian beads I have. Can’t help much further but they are beautiful

    I believe Italy too.. and I think the "sparks" I've seen them as Sommerso or Aventurina: https://www.venetianbeadshop.com/sommerso.html

    Aventurine, not sommerso. Sommerso is layered glass. Those are nice old Ventian spatter glass with aventurine beads. How long is it?

    I'd think maybe even thirties ish with that length and the barrel clasp. The caps and those rods are typical of Czech pieces, so the beads may have been exported.

    Unless they're missing a chunk. I've run into beads strung that way before, and they were a lot longer and closer to 1975 than 1935.
