    Hello everyone <3

I found these necklaces I had totally forgotten about yesterday.
(I DO remember getting them now, they came together from a booty )

(I get confused so I think I'll do them separately)

    Thanks everyone...xxx
This one is approx 20 inches long. The clasp things say STERLING and show a rising sun. Done some looking and some sources say they think that mark could be mid 20thC and Japanese? But I don't know.
Do you think these are really turquoise? Are they dyed? (I did a TEENY part with acetone and didn't get any colour transferred but was too scared to actually do it properly)

    Hi Bou.:) Very nice necklace.
Not Japanese, but US Southwestern style, which usually means New Mexico, Arizona. They often use those sun symbol cones. There is a possibility it is Native American, but we'll never know without proof.
No need to.:) If turquoise is dyed, it usually also has a protective layer. Many turquoise beads are treated in some way, it is generally accepted. These look treated to me, but it isn't coral, so no problem.;)

( ... I tried the acetone as one of the sources I read said if dyed howlite, there's a possibility that it's only surface dyed and they showed a pic of a howlite bead cut in half! :O Had dye on outside only, was white inside and they also showed a cotton bud with acetone on and some colour transfer) xxx

Pretty sure these are turquoise, just dyed and with a protective layer. I could be wrong, let's wait what the others say.

@Any Jewelry is correct, of course!
All the components are typical for Southwestern style. Whether a Native American actually made the piece is hard to tell.
The crimp bead shows that this piece is more recent.

Agree but also typical of the tourist pieces in the plaza in Santa Fe which are all absolutely NA. No way to know.

I could have done that too, easily enough. For 50 pence I'd have bought it too; the silver is worth more than that, especially if you have to go buying new bits to repair something else.
