I'm thinking that both these pieces of pottery I found are from Peru, but I have not been able to find close matches for either one online.

The human effigy one seems Peruvian but it also looks similar to some Mexican pots and maybe even early Mata Ortiz.

And I don't see the woven 'netting' of the second one on other Peru ware, though the clay itself sure looks similar.

(These were purchased more or less separately btw.)

    Thanks as always!

Identified as from Bali, similar to this one illustrated in Bryan Sentance: Art of the Basket:

If you can identify the netting as rattan, it would be an important clue. Peeled rattan ("reed") will usually have fine lines running the length of the fiber, and few if any joins - the pieces can be very long.

The face pot looks Central American to me. Maybe Costa Rica?
    They are both very nice.

Wow-- @2manybooks, that is identical! Thank you so much. I never even thought to look in a book on baskets...

Reminds me somewhat of this one I got a few years ago.

I'm still a little self-conscious to tag a member, but maybe @Taupou can shed some light on the second effigy pot?
