Featured unknown, unsigned little dark-colored pitcher

    What’s going on with the base? Looks like metal or is that just a trick of the light? :confused:

    Usually when I run across something like this it's Japanese redware. This doesn't strike me as Japanese though. On the other hand the glaze doesn't go all the way to the bottom edge which is unusual for USA pieces.

    The dark brown/black glaze is usually highly reflective which I think my be what KSW is seeing. Nice little piece. Juice pitcher?

    Not sure if it is a juice pitcher. Makes sense, though. Glad you like it. I'll check on Japanese redware. Thx.
