Featured Unusual Antique / Vintage Advertising(?) Chimpanzee Mask

    I've just come across this slightly bizarre chimp mask, which I suspect may possibly have been originally used for advertising cigars in a tobacconist shop.

    It was made as a wall mask - presumably of painted plaster or similar material. I believe it was made in Germany in the early 20th century.

    I'd be interested to know if anyone has seen anything like this in the past, or even has other suggestions as to it's intended use.
