Featured Unusual Clay pitcher that looks like brown cork board -- any help with signature?

    Odd looking piece, but you have to agree, unusual.

    Meant to get a shot looking down. Inside of spout has the same effect as the exterior, but deeper into the pitcher is black clay. It reminds me of brown cork board. This is solid clay, heavy.

    Any luck with signature? Thanks.

    I tried G. Tart, G. Tort, no luck. Hoping someone recognizes the distinctive look.

    I thought maybe that was an S for the first letter but came up with nothing. I tried Storl, Stort,

    Could it be something __ ___ "art"? Almost looks like there is a period after the word, but maybe that is just part of the finish.

    Probably my only hope is if someone recognizes the style here -- any name or keyword for this unique finish? (Long shot, I know.)

    The whole thing says, "Stan". Cx, you had the right idea from the start! :)
