Featured Unusual Fossil Theme Stereoview

    Got an interesting 1880-90's Stereoview that appears to be showing parts of a fossilized animal. One end looks like a crocodile, not sure what's going on with the other end. The way they have it laid out is odd. Sadly no markings as to maker or location.

    Doubt i'll be able to find out much about it, but I was looking at famous fossil hunters of the time and the seated man kinda looks similar to Edward Drinker Cope. Not really enough detail to make a real guess though.

    The fossil looks like a Plesiosaurus .

    Could be an ichtyosaurus. I think parts are missing - ribs for instance.

    I had someone message me on ebay about the card, as they had a similar one with a written title on back, identifying it as a Pleisosaurus also.
