I recently picked up this ring. The way the stones are set reminds me of Georgian era pieces I have seen, but I worry that the quality doesn't reflect Georgian era pieces. There appears to be a hallmark on the bottom, but it is illegible, and it may just be a casting mark. Some gilding, it appears, on the inside of the ring, on the part past the shank filigree. I'd love your thoughts on age and origin.

The photos are too out of focus to see details. The center stone is modern cut and some of the small stones appear to be replacements. The small stones are burr set and the technique is still used today and the quality of the ring is questionable.

I have to agree...the ring looks like a mess....looks new...and the silver so distracts from whatever stones are there.............:sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry:

Sorry, my camera is a pain in the butt. I can't get it to focus right on small objects :(
That's what I was worried about. My first thought was that it might be antique, but something about the quality stuck in my craw... :(

Try to take a photo a bit further away, and crop it. The photos look like they have too much contrast and glare, which doesn't help the detail either.

As for the ring itself, nowhere near Georgian, sorry.:( Maybe if you could take other photos we can get a bit closer to identification. Right now I am inclined to reach for my sunglasses.:sorry:
Did you test the metal and the stones? Could be garnet glass.

I think that's pretty recent - the claw set is another pointer.

I think there is too much light on the ring. Too much reflection.
