I own these same rabbits. They were given to me by a lady from outside Zanesville, Ohio. She said they were made by Shawnee. I have owned them for over 30 years and I believe she was the original owner. I always get them out at Easter time.

Funny thing happened today. George and I went to New Concord, Ohio to see our grandson at Muskingum Univ. Had lots of time so we went into a few antique shops between Zanesville and New Concord. Two shops had these rabbits on display. Both in cases and marked Shawnee. One set was not painted while the other was. Couldn't see the tags so I don't know what they were asking. Took a picture but they don't show up well.

Wow Jen, that is a weird coincidence.
On the entire internet, I can only find these rabbits in Etsy listings that are "unavailable", which Google doesn't cache, so all I can see are the pics and only part of the title.
Can't find any searching Shawnee rabbit/rabbits.
I'll get some Shawnee books from the library and see if they're in there.
Thanks so much for the clues!

LOL! The wonder is, the name came trippingly to the tongue, and he is not one of my favorite artists!

I just flipped through the Vanderbilt Collector's Guide to Shawnee, and they aren't in there, either.
