Vanity - Style and Period?

Picked up this vanity/dresser today. Pretty rough shape, mirror gone, but love the feet, columns, and hardware. I'd guess early 20th century and have no clue what you'd call this style. Thanks for any thoughts you can share. Second photo shows drawer dovetails.

 

Are you sure it's a vanity? Looks more like a sideboard.

Well, it's only 27" high and I can see where the mirror attached on the back.

True, but isn't 27" very low for a sideboard? The sides are just open cabinets with no shelves currently and no holes or hardware for shelves.

 

So -- just to understand -- there are holes in the back where something was affixed and you think it was a mirror? How far apart are the holes and are they centered on the lowered top?

From which level of the top does it measure 27"? The center? The sides?

I'm sorry I withheld info, I didn't even consider it could be a sideboard. This piece, which I'd removed to make a repair, attaches to the top along the backside. It has holes on the back , which appear to be for mirror upright brackets, and they are 19.25" apart.

 

It's 27" from the ground to the top of the left and right cabinets. The legs glue into the base with dowels so I don not think they could have been cut down.

 

Since this is not in 'furniture', how 'bout we call in the big guns?

Just have trouble seeing this as a vanity. When sitting, your knees would interfere with opening the drawers.

Are there casters under those big feet?

Yes, in Texas. No casters. I'm willing to concede it might not be a vanity. Be it sideboard, credenza, or dressing table, does anyone have any thoughts on age or style? Thanks.

 

Style is Classical, guesses 1930s-40s revival piece.
A quick google brought this one up on eBay, mid 19th
Thinks OP piece is missing it's castors so originally would be higher than 27" it is now.

 

Not a dressing table. Unusual Victorian revival-type styling; I'd call it a sideboard or credenza. Fit for the dining room or downstairs hallway, but not the bedroom.

 

Yeah, casters would add a couple inches. 29" was standard table-top height for many decades.
