    Hey folks!

I haven't posted in a long time, but need your help again :)
I acquired this very large and quite heavy pitcher from an old lady from Sweden who has been selling antiques in her countryside home for at least 50 years. She said bought this pitcher about 60 years ago from antique shop somewhere near Stockholm and was told then it was already very old. She has kept it for many years and didn't sell it and now has to move to close to her children and is selling pretty much everything. Boring but this is the story :D
Anyway. I fell in love with it and it is truly stunning in my opinion. Pictures don't do justice for this pitcher.
It's about 21 cm (8.3 inches) in height, but the capacity is about 2 litres (0.5 gallons) which is a lot.
Anything about this pitcher would be highly appreciated :)

    Thank you!
    Erik

Very nice Nippon pitcher. The background is sometimes referred to as watered silk. I think the term for the white decoration is moriage but someone will correct me if I am mistaken. I would estimate age at circa 1900. Really a lovely item.

It's beautiful. :) I'm wondering if it is very early Nippon. The raised decoration looks like moriage to me, but it could be enamel.

Wait for others to have a look and see what they have to say.
