Featured Victorian milk glass oil lamp question

    hi all, bought this today, in surprisingly good nick, with no chips or anything on the glass

    my question is regarding the shade that came with it. its not very nice, do you think its original to the lamp ?

    think i did ok for £10 !

    ohhh, no terrible.....I wouldn't have paid more than 9 !!!!

    The blue base alone is wonderful.....& the rest.....lovely !!!!!:happy::happy::happy::happy:

    hard to tell about the shade...but it doesn't hurt the piece..!!
    How's the fit ?

    yeah, its a terrible fit, i nearly didnt bother bringing it home with me, but i thought it was best to check

    Glad you didn’t pass on this, it’s beautiful!
    My limited knowledge Guess French, the creatures were actually called dolphins (scary dolphins) :)

    I've heard about the lamps along the embankment along the Thames, in London, with dolphin bases....

    cheers, for the info tallcakes, the seller mentions the shades being from the 60s or 70s

    i had a feeling the shade was newer

    Although people call this blue milk glass, I believe it is actually Blue Opaque Glass.

    Gorgeous lamp, Charlie. I'll take the dolphin base, reminds me of my walks along the Thames in London.
