Cannot add to maker or age of guitar, but FULLY agree with this post. If you have a music store that sells guitars, bring this in and have them check it out. Guitar is a somewhat difficult starter instrument, you want the sizing to be correct for a young child, strings, etc. to maximize enjoyment and success. Best of luck!
