    Dennis Tjaden Old ball coach......

I don't know if there's anyone that can help in this field but I'll give it a try. My mother had these in her home. They were her grandmother's who lived to be 100 and passed away in the mid 70's.

There appears to be crest on the back of each item. They are plastic or Bakelite or something like that. They are made to look like wood.

    Thanks for your help.

Maybe the crests are sterling, you can polish and look for marks.

Others have recommended sunshine cloths. I’ve never used them. Wrights silver polish is recommended. Try to use a cotton cloth and see if that helps, if you don’t have silver polish. Don’t use internet chemical concoctions.

This one is very much like yours and it says Silver Medallion in the description, so definitely worth polishing up. INH, should he use Sunshine Cloth? You guys say that a lot (I am not sure what it is exactly, however) Give him some tips. I just use a little silver cleaner on a soft cloth...

I TRY to use silver polishing cloth only, if its a high quality piece, Herman’s silver polish (expensive)
Less important maybe Wrights. But others will have their own preferences.

It says it was made of paper mache? With a heavy "substantial" mirror? That seems a little bit odd.

wasn't there a US company by the name of Sterling ?
as for date, I always thought that was a fashion brought over by Victoria's Albert.
why would people pay anything for such stuff when it's not real antler horn ?
