So I realize that real mercury ornaments are not common - despite how many are supposedly sold on ebay. I have studied the definition of what a true mercury ornament is, and this is my understanding: It has two walls, it is silvered on the inside, it is sealed. You should be able to see where the silvering entered.

Okay - so this is where I get confused. I have a lot of old double walled ornaments. I can't tell whether they are silvered on the inside or not. They are colored on the outside. I can not see where they were sealed. I have therefore concluded that they are NOT mercury glass ornaments. But then WHY are they double walled? I have NEVER seen anyone refer to their ornaments as double walled. Help!?!?
