Vintage dog

    He looks like the Szelier/Sylvac Sad Sam Basset Hound, but the figurine has a felted base, so no name visible, and it seems to be a solid piece.
    I haven't been able to find a similar dog with this the floral decoration.

    Is he paper mache? Looks 1980s.

    That's what I thought when I saw it, but it's heavy. It looks as if it's paper glued on the figure, but it's the actual underglaze decoration.

    Looks like a Sad Sam that someone has decoupaged (popular in the 80s). I find the cats quite often.

    I’ve forgotten who made these. There were cats as well. Pottery figures, then decoupaged and vanished. Commercial not hobby. Yours has rather faded.
