Does anyone recognize this cute little guy? I am assuming he is a pin cushion or hat pin cushion. There are remnants of a sticker on the base that state Louvre, stamped 23. The hallmark kind of looks like D & C but I didn't find anything via a google search.
    He measures approx. 2.75 inches. IMG_3953.jpg IMG_3954.jpg IMG_3955.jpg IMG_3957.jpg

Regular pins for me! Hatpins holders were higher as hat pins are longer.:)

Definitely looks like it has some age from those stamps on the base. Is that a price tag?

Seems to me that Galluba and Hoffman mostly did lower end stuff, but they were capable of nice design:

Strange it’s a German Maker, not French, no?

Yes and that is where I ran into trouble.....I was looking in French porcelain hallmarks. Curious though that this one does not have the crown as part of hallmark.

It's adorable. Is it possible that it had a different purpose when it was made like a candle holder?

A little inexpensive import. _____ Louvre, Paris would have been the retailer.
