Vintage Painted Folk Art Wood Hanging?

    Okay, so I’m a definite newbie but I HAVE learned to always buy what you love and you’ll never be unhappy with your purchase! I found this sweet little “carved” (carved shape/edges) wooden sweetheart and would love to know more about her.

    She is approximately 12” tall by 5” wide by 1/2” thick (I’ll post exact measurements in the AM). It appears somewhat signed it (or a child wrote on it) the initials “AJ.”

    The wood is fairly raw (the whole back) and seems to be painted with some sort of soft, chalky paint.

    Vintage or not, I think she’s great!

    The colorway is 1950s. She does look as if she's meant to be a colonial dame. And she appears to be commercially made. I'd expect she was one of a pair. But don't think you'll be able to find out anything about her for certain.
