I wear an Israeli army shirt all the time. I got it before the most current of the recurrent conflicts in the area. I love it as a shirt. I actually didn’t even know what language the text on it was in when I pulled it out of a closet at an estate sale. A couple times American Jewish folks have assumed I’m also Jewish when I wear it out. I’m missing a button or two as well. I was thinking of stripping all the olive green buttons and replacing them with a purplish maroon button. I think it would look cool. Not sure if that would be disrespectful to the uniform. I guess it’s mine to do with as I please at this point. Some part of me thinks the former owner might be glad someone liked a piece of his history and is giving it new life, maybe not though.

This is the one. I got a couple big boxes jammed full of US Army pieces from the late 50’s through the 60’s on the side of the road once. Probably at least 30 garments. From boots, to short shorts, to trench coats, and everything in between. All belong to a guy named “Winner”. So it’s kind of odd when they have a name patch on them. You’d think the shirt with it was a prize. It took me a minute to realize what was going on. I’m guessing the short shorts were for when they had leave. If I had better thighs I’d rock them.
