Featured Watchmaker's 60 Drawer Cabinet

Thanks Jeff,excellent article about the radioactive history of watch dials-this phrase I found interesting: 'It is interesting to note, that over time, radium burns through the zinc sulphide, leaving the indexes and hands red in color.'
Here's a pic of one of the tins of Waltham Nite Lite (Radium) hands-they are indeed an adobe red color.

 

That ranks up there as "very high" on my desire list. Fantastic. curious how he/she knew what was in each drawer.

 

Lark-I've wanted one for a while too.Don't know how the original owner knew what was in each drawer-it's only got 3 old tags on it.Maybe they washed them off (gum tags like old stamps used to have).
It doesn't seem to have ever been stripped,prob just sat in someone's garage or attic for decades.

Curious as to whether any of the little drawers are lined with felt or some other fabric.

 

Sedona-Sorry to take so long to reply.All the drawers are unlined.One thing interesting are the pulls-think they're made of gutta perch or bakelite.
