hi folks

watercolour is all about i got for this, found it in a charity shop yesterday for £2.50

not mad about it, but thought it was pleasant, and not too badly done

cant find anything on artist, so perhaps amateur

just some pleasant folks out for a wee walk ?

artist thought it was 1983 then realised it was 1984

any thoughts appreciated

 

or it was August 1934

 

interesting, i dont think jeremy corbyn was born untill 1949 though

thats who the person on the right reminds me of

the body positions are quite well executed though, thats a hard one to convey, the lady facing us

Yes, their attitude is 1980s. A portrait, I'd think. The missing half of the one couple may well be the artist.

Gonna be a hard sell, without a location, theme or known artist.

May well have been. A long time for a group to pose. That could explain the date correction. Have you opened the back up?

Na, but might be worth while, just to get some hopeful info

Took the ferryman one to pieces yesterday, hopeful to get some more info, bloody nightmare

No new info, but had to be done to make sure

2 piece wooden back, broken frame nails, bloody fingers and know in pieces

 

Almost impossible to research an artist whose surname is a noun.

What's a worth worth ?

 

I think it could be worth finding out, for what it's worth.

 

I like it. At first glance I thought it looked like a family unit, man going over papers with a youth and mom reading a letter. (Actually my 2022 eyes first thought she was wearing a mask .)

 

Could this be a preliminary "sketch" for an oil painting? Just a thought . Certainly a study in shadows and the canes prominence is interesting. Looks like a pair of glasses hanging from the woman's neck.

 

It is fresh and not overworked which is nice to see.
I like it!

 

I picked up the painting to see what you meant, and tried to use two fingers to zoom in on it !
