What are these other than foo dogs?

    Me again,

    These have been kicking around for a long time I asked somewhere else a long time ago and I am looking for more opinions I only really got that they might be curtain tie-backs but I have not found any anywhere even remotely like this What could these be? They are ceramic or stoneware or something close

    I found one. It is small and colorful. It does not show the back so I don't know if there are holes in it like yours to secure it to a surface (wall) but for some reason, yours seem to look like they have a different purpose?

    Foo dogs are supposed to be displayed in pairs. One is male, one female. They are protectors.
    So possibly newer mid to late 1900s decor to be hung on either side of a front door or gate.
