These are a bit bigger than a quarter. They don't seem to be military and do seem to be hand-stamped.

Like Terry said, they certainly look like WWI dog tags rather than WWII dog tags. I did find a Robert W Philliamy (1925-1984) who was a Staff Sargent in WWII. Wonder if the names on these tags were of his father??

Scroll down to McPhilliamy. His wife, Merle McPhilliamy (1913-1993), was 12 years younger. She got a toy boy, good for her!

Here is the mention of another Robert W. Philliamy. This one seems to have been a past husband of Elizabeth Hamlin (1927-2003). This R.W. McPhilliamy would be too young for WWI also.

The following Ancestry.com page a Robert W. mcPhilliamy of Pennsylvania WWI veteran Service and Compensation file. I don't have an Ancestery membership soooo can't see the file.

^5 Merle! I bet that's him. These popped up in an auction; I bought the lot for a Trackman hat badge and these were in the pile. Another site lists his wife as of 1930 as Lola. Maybe Merle was wife #2. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XCZQ-HMV

This does make me wonder if my cousin Tom got my grandfather's WWI tags. He was a cook in a machine gun company; he was never hit, but his poor pots became colanders soon enough.
