What do I call this lamp sconce? I tried Bug Eyed but didn't see anything like it

I found this at a thrift store & my first thought was it was a bug eyed lamp/sconce but nothing comes up when I googled that. Isn't that what they called the round, chrome mid century lamps?
What are these called; so I can get an idea of value?
1 unusual thing is it has a long electric cord/plug - I thought this type sconce lamp would be wired flush to wall like a ceiling fan?
    Thank you!

    Cool fixture, journey!

I always refer to them as "globe." Whether that is correct or not, I don't know. Maybe play around with variations of

    "plug in globe sconce"
    "plug in globe wall light"
    ...

It's super cool. Almost wondering if this is more of a 1990's (or even newer) set with a nod to space age style. Restoration Hardware, maybe? Could be every bit as collectible if yes. Anything written anywhere at all? The plug and cord look newer, but could be re-wired of course. Interesting find!
