komokwa The Truth is out there...!

I once had a heavy shale item arrive , packed in a box with nothing but lots of white tissue paper.......... the item wasn't damaged... but all the tissue paper.... ended up looking like a few sticks of gum !!

I have sent my Granddaughter & DIL jewelry from the states to Germany. I always individually wrap each piece in bubble wrap first. Then all together in a box, if there is room, more bubble wrap. If there is not enough room for bubble wrap they make a product it looks like a shredded accordion but it is cushiony, you want no space, then I tape it then it goes in a lined bubble box (I have no idea what they are really called) I believe I got them from U-line, or a huge online place that sells shipping things. I have sent crystal vases, candlesticks if it breaks I have shipped it. My step father owned a moving company & taught me years ago how to pack a box so the contents wont break regardless of how the box is treated on the outside. If you sell it, you got this.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hope it was still edible, not stale!

Yes, I know what can be used long term for shipping. Believe it or not so many things like butter, eggs, marshmallows & popcorn can not be used or put into a box with baked goods as they mold I am talking over seas shipments, I cringe when I see groups ask for people to bake for soldiers who have no clue, yes I know the thought & kindness are always their along with salmonella & bacteria.

yes, he was so happy it was in one piece & it was a large pan I used but it is his favorite, regardless of the price it cost to ship it, it was for my kiddo! I also sent him brownie brittle that survived as well & kcups. My snobby kid brings his keurig machine but he is no dummy it also makes him quite popular amongst the higher ups.
