Hahaaa yes. My father took a punch-card computer programming class for fun and ended up becoming a programmer at just the right time. When I was a kid, we had a computer in the house before there was a world wide web. We would teledoc into a computer a co-worker of my father's had, and send messages back and forth. The future! I taught myself to code basic stuff for fun. Built computers. But I didn't want to work in a cubicle so didn't go that way. I built my first website in '96 from scratch in Notepad and did digital art back before we had programs meant for that.

But don't ask me about tiktok lol. I'm behind on many things now. :hilarious:

My Father-In-Law had a TRS-80 and when we went over for dinner I'd sit there for hours trying not to nod off as he explained what all pointillist green symbols meant on the black screen as they took weeks to load !
Holy Christ-I thought about the early Tech Millionaires (not Billionaires) sprouting up down in Silicon Valley (1 1/2 hrs south), and realized-no I could not sit in a cubicle doing this 80 hours a week !
I wished I could, because we all knew in the Bay Area that the entire planet would soon be bat shit crazy for Tech and the money would most assuredly be surreal.
But when your born to the brush, pencil and pigments-you're effin' doomed to live a financially 'adventurous' life.
