This vase is almost 13" tall, and almost 5" in diameter at the base. The mark in pic 7 seems familiar, but somehow isn't...the numbers in pic 8 may be helpful, but...

It came with an old Joplin, Missouri banking family to Southern California in the mid 1930's, so the story goes. I cannot verify that, as all of those folks have passed on.

I have fondled it for hours, and cannot find any flaw or damage; it appears perfect; as made.

Y'alls help in identifying the maker, and, if possible, the pattern name and approximate age, will be received and acknowledged with deep thanks!

Charming, and very Art Nouveau. The costume is from northwestern France, so I assume it is French made.

I can see why you have fondled it. Very nice. The top flowers remind me of Hydrangeas.

That's 'cos they are! The other is a double anemone by the look of it.

I had admired it for years, partly 'cause her head cover seemed Dutch...where my Mother was born. I'm intrigued to learn the style is far more regional, rather than specific to Holland. Thank you very much, AJ!

Thanks for the multi-links! None of them (as far as I could see) offer the name of the maker, nor anything specific about age, save that all agree on Majolica an' Art Nouveau...which does have a fairly well defined period.

    As Bosco69 mentioned...you are fast!!

Lovely piece! The bottom flowers might also be double poppies, based on the foliage.

NW France is related to Flanders and the Netherlands. Part of the region is Flemish.
Flanders is divided between three countries, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
My beloved Brabant is split between two countries, Belgium and the Netherlands.:arghh: So is Limburg.

Thanks, AJ, for the geographic illumination. Had I glanced at a map, all would have become pretty clear. My gratitude for your help!

Cultural links aren't always clear from a map. I am just obsessed with learning about different cultures.:playful:
