So, while checking out some of the other "roosters", I decided to email one of them and ask if he had any information.....he also creates the decorative little limoges boxes!!! Here is his reply along with a picture of the "roosters" he makes!!!!! I have to admit....even the work on his looks better than on mine!!!! The "gold" trim on mine does look very sloppy!!!! So looks like Mom maybe just liked it, or got "taken"....never will know which!!!!! But at least it's a fun piece!!!!

Suzanne, This is definitely not an antique, probably dates to the 60’s or 70’s.
Unfortunately not made with a great deal of care, but more likely with an effort
To deceive. The writing inside (which should have been facing so that it was right
Side when the box was opened) says “shame on those who would think ill of this”
The painting on the outside is quite amateurish. I’ve attached an image of our version As a basis to compare.
