What is this Barbee, U.S.A. tool used for?

Thanks for your help! I sold tools for 20 years, and I’m stumped! It measures 12” x 4”, made by The Barbee Co., Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. One end is marked “R”, the other “N”. It’s quite heavy, ferrous metal. The jaws are open in the resting position. Thank you!

 

The company sells "heat transfer products." That's all I got.
