20201130_115950.jpg 20201130_115901.jpg 20201130_115924.jpg I acquired this box but I'm not sure how old it is or even what it is. I bought it because I was just awed by the craftsmanship. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on its approximate age or what it might be. It's small, I would estimate around 5 by 7. Would appreciate any input, guesses or insight. Thank you.

Looks like a trinket box, (meaning you can put any small things you like in it). The decoration is split and dyed straw, which can be described as "straw marquetry". A popular decorating technique in eastern Europe and Russia.

I can't say for sure. Such things are still being made. But from the shape of the box itself I would guess 1950s-ish.
