What is this heart made of?

    Hi,
    24 Kt gold does not tarnish but any lower the added metal is capable of tarnishing.
    I had a 10 KT gold locket that was black, I thought it was silver or gold plated. Nope checked out as 10 KT. With in a year it was black again.

    Cleaned up I can see the possibility of its being gold filled.

    Might have been designed as a photo frame, clear cover now lost. It reminds me of a big locket.
